Arabs fight as Israel plans new ethnic cleansing

Israeli warplanes pound Beirut as Hezbollah resistance forces battle to drive the Israelis out of southern Lebanon. Palestinian guerrillas are ambushing Israeli patrols in northern Gaza and launching attacks deep inside Israel itself. American B-2 Stealth bombers have raided military bases in Houthi-controlled north Yemen. And back in Cairo leaders from Fatah, the Palestinian movement that runs the autonomous West Bank administration and Hamas, which heads the Gaza Strip government, have agreed to form a Palestinian unity government for Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

While the great and the good shed crocodile tears over the carnage in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, the Israelis continue their genocidal war safe in the knowledge that they can always count on the Americans to back them up, regardless of the consequences. And those consequences include an Israeli attack on Iran that could set the entire region ablaze or even trigger a new world war.

The Secret Policeman’s Ball

During the Cold War not a day went past without some “red scare” story in the news. The Berlin Wall; Gulags; Eastern Europeans groaning under the Soviet jackboot; Reds fomenting strikes to bring down “Western civilisation”; communists taking “Moscow gold” and legion of Russian spies creeping around looking for atom secrets. All of this under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust that only the Anglo-American nuclear deterrent could prevent.
